Rockstar Sets GTA 6 Price at £69.99 and £89.99 Ahead of November Release

Rockstar Games has officially revealed the price of Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6), one of the most anticipated video games in history. As pre-orders opened worldwide, fans finally learned how much they will need to pay to experience the next chapter of the legendary GTA franchise.
The standard edition of GTA 6 will cost £69.99 in the United Kingdom and $79.99 in the United States. Rockstar has also announced an Ultimate Edition priced at £89.99 in the UK and $100 in the US. The premium version will include additional in-game content such as exclusive vehicles, weapons, outfits, and other bonuses for players.
One of the biggest surprises is that the physical edition of GTA 6 will not include a game disc. Instead, buyers will receive a physical box containing a digital download code. Players will use the code to download the game directly to their console. This decision has sparked debate among fans, especially collectors who prefer owning physical discs.
Many gamers have questioned whether the code-based physical edition will affect the resale value of the game. Unlike traditional physical copies, digital download codes can usually only be redeemed once, meaning players may not be able to sell or share the game after activation.
Despite concerns about the lack of a disc, the game’s price has received a relatively positive response from fans. While GTA 6 costs more than most previous entries in the series, many players believe the increase is justified considering the scale, graphics, and years of development behind the project.
GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Players who pre-order digital versions will be able to pre-load the game from November 12, allowing them to start playing immediately when it becomes available.
The upcoming title has been in development for several years and is expected to become one of the biggest entertainment launches ever. Rockstar first confirmed work on GTA 6 in 2022, but the project faced several challenges, including major leaks and delays. The company eventually moved the release date to late 2026 to ensure the game meets quality expectations.
GTA 6 will introduce Lucia, the franchise’s first playable female protagonist in a modern 3D GTA game. Alongside her partner Jason, players will explore a massive open-world environment inspired by Vice City and other locations. Rockstar promises a richer story, improved gameplay mechanics, advanced AI systems, and a more immersive experience than any previous GTA title.
The success of GTA 5 has set incredibly high expectations for its successor. Since its release in 2013, GTA 5 has sold nearly 230 million copies worldwide and generated billions of dollars in revenue. Industry analysts believe GTA 6 could break multiple sales records and become one of the highest-grossing entertainment products ever created.
Gaming experts also suggest that GTA 6’s pricing strategy could influence the entire gaming industry. If players accept the higher price point, other major publishers may follow Rockstar’s lead and increase prices for future AAA games.
With pre-orders now live and excitement building across the gaming community, GTA 6 is already shaping up to be one of the biggest video game launches of the decade. Whether fans choose the standard edition or the Ultimate Edition, one thing is clear: Rockstar’s blockbuster title is set to dominate the gaming world when it arrives in November 2026.
