Pakistan Army Wins Top Position at Prestigious International Military Competition in UK

The Pakistan Army has achieved another major international success by securing first position at the International Pace Sticking Competition 2026 held at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the United Kingdom.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) team delivered an outstanding performance and won all major awards at the prestigious military drill competition. The Pakistani contingent secured the 1st Overall Team Trophy, Best Pace Sticker Award, and Best Driver Award, making it one of the most successful performances in the event’s history.
The nine-member Pakistan Army team, led by Major Haider Gulzar, arrived in the United Kingdom on June 5 to participate in the annual competition. A total of 16 teams from military academies and armed forces around the world competed in the event, showcasing their skills in military drill, precision marching, pace-stick handling, discipline, and leadership.
The competition is regarded as one of the most respected military ceremonial events, testing participants on accuracy, coordination, professionalism, and teamwork. Pakistan’s impressive victory demonstrated the high standards of training and discipline maintained by the country’s armed forces.
In a statement, the ISPR said the achievement reflects the professionalism, dedication, and excellence of the Pakistan Army. The military media wing added that the victory is a source of pride for the entire nation and highlights Pakistan’s strong reputation in international military competitions.
This is not the first time Pakistan has excelled on the global military stage. The Pakistan Army has consistently performed well in international contests and exercises. In recent years, Pakistani military teams have won multiple gold medals at the famous Exercise Cambrian Patrol in Wales, one of the world’s toughest military endurance challenges.
Defense experts believe such achievements strengthen Pakistan’s image internationally and showcase the capabilities of its armed forces. The latest victory at Sandhurst further reinforces Pakistan Army’s reputation as one of the most professionally trained military forces in the world.
The achievement has been widely celebrated across Pakistan, with many people praising the dedication and hard work of the officers and cadets who represented the country and brought home another international title.
